Birth Story Listening - 1-on-1

During a one-hour session you will tell me about the birth you experienced, and I will guide you to see the narrative and bodily sensations are part of it.

The essence of the session is to help YOU resolve the trauma aspect of your birth experience, and turn it into an empowering story. This isn’t about me being an expert OVER you, I will simply guide you back to YOU being your OWN EXPERT.

My role in the session is holding a safe container, asking questions of a particular nature (clarifying, opening, resolving), and see where on a somatic level a shift can happen.

This offering is 60-90 minutes, either in person at my home in a private room, or via Zoom, and is $100.

Birth Story Listening - Group sessions

During a multi-hour session, as in the one-on-one, we will discuss the birth you experienced, see where the story brings about sensations in the body, what narrative you carry with it. Through a guided structure, you will pair up with other women for this, followed up with a group sharing of your findings.

The key difference from the one-on-one session is the added aspect of community building. Find mothers you resonate with!

My role in the session is to provide a safe container in a group setting, enabling you to show up vulnerable, find empowerment in your birth story, and build friendships along the way.

We will take 2 hours for these sessions, yet I recommend showing up 15 minutes early to settle in. There is no pressure to rush out after the session, as I book off extra time to allow for integration as well as community building.

The price depends on what location and time of day is chosen for the circle. The last circle was priced at $65 per person.

Motherhood

Rite of Passage Ceremony

Becoming a mother is a Rite of Passage, through the pregnancy, birth, postpartum and a Ceremony to acknowledge that this Passage really happened. The mothers in Western Society often feel lost in the transition from Maiden to Mother, as there is a lack of acknowledgment and of Ceremony.

What is offered in Rite of Passage Ceremony is first of all a sharing similar to Birth Story Medicine, with an inclusion of the Postpartum Period and anything that you feel is relevant for this time. It is my intent for you to feel truly seen and validated in your newborn mother role, whether this is your first child, or your tenth.

Finally, a Closing of the Bones with use of the Mexican Rebozo is offered. This is a cross-cultural offering, with more well-known roots in the Mexican, Spanish, Arabian and Russian cultures. My own training has a Mexican lineage, where midwives use it multiple times during the postpartum period.

This ceremony is recommended for postpartum women, yet this doesn’t have to be within the first 40 days after the birth! Closing of the bones is used traditionally not just for postpartum mothers, but also for anyone having gone through a larger transitions, transformation, traumatic event, or even a physical event resulting in fractured bones, including children and men. That said, my ceremonial offering will focus on postpartum women, whether 40 days or 40 years postpartum.

“Closing of the Bones is a traditional ceremony acknowledging the changes a woman undergoes in pregnancy and childbirth. Physically, it guides her bones back into place, helps her pelvic organs shift, encourages her uterus to return to pre-pregnancy size, and stimulates blood flow. Energetically, it’s an invitation to come back into her body after birth, inviting self-love, warmth, and tenderness.” - Mother Citizen™️

This offering takes 3 hours, is offered in your own home, and is $350 if living within District of Squamish. You will receive tea and nourishing refreshments as part of the offering.
