Marshmallows Recipe
This recipe is taken literally from Dr Hannah-Beth Ness’ email newsletter, and I highly recommend you subscribe to it. Her emails are personal as well as full of TCM wisdom. (Her name at the top of the page is linked to her website.)
I keep looking this recipe up, having to dive and sort through emails, so to make it easier for myself, I made this page. :)
Alright, let’s get to it!
Marshmallows
You’ll need:
– 1 1/2 cup water & 3 tbsp marshmallow root
– 3 tbsp gelatine
– 1/2 cup raw honey
– Pinch of salt
– Optional add-ins: beet powder, cacao, vanilla, methylene blue, etc.
Method:
In a small pot, combine marshmallow root & water, bring to a boil then simmer covered for 10-20 minutes. Remove from heat, using a french press strain liquid back into pot then place in fridge to cool.
When marshmallow root tea is cold, sprinkle gelatine and let bloom. (Tea must be COLD or gelatine will not bloom.)
Heat marshmallow root tea and honey on low until just warm and dissolved (not boiling).
Add salt and any add-ins.
Whip on high until fluffy (stand mixer or hand mixer). This takes about 10ish minutes.
Immediately pour into parchment-lined dish and set in fridge for 1–2 hours.
Cut and enjoy.
